Bangladesh Standards (BDS), a guideline for products and services standard of Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI), will be available online from now to save expenditure and time of industrial entrepreneurs.
Industries Minister, also BSTI Council president, Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun on Tuesday inaugurated the project titled on ‘E-Catalogue’ and Bangladesh Standard’ which are being implemented by BSTI with the assistance of Access to Information (A2i).Earlier, BSTI Council held its council meeting at its Tejgaon’s head office.
Speaking on the occasion, Industries Minister said, ‘People can collect Bangladesh Standards (BDS) staying at home. Customers have to submit the receipt copy of BDS with other document while applying for license. It is another step towards digitization of Bangladesh’.
Industries State Minister Kamal Ahmed Majumder and Industries Secretary Md Abdul Halim were present in the meeting.
Among others, representatives from ministries like Industries, Finance, Jute and Textile, Information, Agriculture, Commerce, Home, ICT, and other government departments also attended the meeting.
