Jeweller killed in Thakurgaon

THAKURGAON: A jewellery shop owner was hacked to death by some miscreants at Senua in Sadar upazila early Friday, reports UNB.

The deceased was identified as Gokul Roy, 40, son of Dhreean Roy of Jamindarpara area.

Deceased’s family members said locals found injured Gokul in Senua Shosanghat area around 12:15 am and informed police.

Later, he was taken to a local hospital where doctors declared him dead.

Gokul was called by some miscreants over phone and then hacked to death, they claimed.

On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy, said Ashikur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station.

Meanwhile, police detained three of his shop employees, including Bishu and Raton, for interrogation, the OC added.
