A two-week-long 2nd solo sculpture exhibition of Farzana Islam Milky titled ‘Rhythm of Life 2’ is underway at La Galerie, Alliance Francaise de Dhaka. The exhibition was inaugurated by Asaduzzaman Noor, MP with Prof. Lala Rukh Selim in attendance on April 5, 2019.
Farzana Islam Milky sees the human figure in a variety of activities and environments through her sculptures. Her sculptures tell the stories of people and their relationship with each other and the surrounding environment. Day-to-day activities of human life, interactions between people, people and nature, and people within man-made architectural settings are the subjects of her sculptures. The artworks are mainly in aluminum and brass whereas some are in white cement and mixed medium.
Artist Farzana Islam Milky said about the exhibition, “For the subjects of my works I have chosen my surroundings, my country and political obstacles. Childhood, though a bit different from the rest of my subjects, is also a part of this solo exhibition.”
The exhibition featuring 28 sculptures will remain open to all till April 19, 2019.
