Firefighter Rana laid to rest in Kishoreganj

Banani FR Tower firefighter Sohel Rana, who succumbed to his injuries at a Singapore hospital early Monday, was laid to rest at his village home in Kishoreganj on Tuesday.

Rana was buried after second a namaj-e-janaza at his village. Before taking the body to his village home, the first namaj-e-janaza of the firefighter was held at the headquarters of Fire Service and Civil Defence in the morning.

Earlier, Fire Service Director General Brig Gen Sazzad Hossain received the

body with the presence of his family members and top fire service officials at Dhaka airport on Monday night.

A guard of honour was formed for the deceased firefighter at the airport.

Sohel Rana, a staff of Kurmitola Fire Service and Civil Defence, sustained serious injuries on March 28 while rescuing trapped inside the FR Tower where a deadly fire claimed 26 lives and left many injured.

Rana was taken to Singapore from the CMH on Friday for better treatment.
