Bangladesh all-rounder Mehedi Hasan Miraz’s thumb injury does not look to be too serious.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) physician Debashish Chowdhury told daily sun that he is expecting him to be all right as he did not come to meet him at his office to complain about any discomfort.“We can expect that he is doing fine as he did not come today (Monday) to report about any discomfort,” said Debashish.
“We asked him to come to us if there was any swelling or if there was any pain but as that did not happen we can expect him to be in good shape,” he said.
Mehedi, who was playing for Abahani Limited, suffered an injury on his right thumb while saving a boundary of Legends of Rupganj Shahriar Nafees batter at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Sunday.
He left the field immediately and BC Chief Physician Debashis Chowdhury said the all-rounder will be under observation for a day and whether they will need any further test or not will be decided after crossing the 24-hour deadline.
Abahani’s skipper Mosaddek Hossain delivered a gentle off-spin outside off-stump to Shahriar Nafees and the left handed batsman struck it through the cover area where Miraz dived to restrict it and in the process sustained the injury at the last moment of Legends’ innings.
Abahnai lost the match by 6 wickets, and at the same time, they lost the top spot of the points table to Legends of Rupganj as well.
