Bangladesh Football Federation’s Women Wing Chairman Mahfuza Akter Kiron was re-elected as Executive Committee member of Asian Football Confederation (AFC) in the ongoing AFC Congress in Malaysia on Saturday.
With the election, Kiron was once again nominated as a FIFA council member. Her only opponent in the South Zone was Maldives’ Mariyam Mohamed and Kiron beat her by 31 to 15 votes. Kiron also retained her position as a FIFA council member in this election. The hosts for the 2023 Asian Cup will also be decided in the ongoing AFC Congress.The reigning AFC President Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa of Bahrain was re-elected unopposed as well.
