Railways Minister Nurul Islam Sujan said advanced rail tickets for the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr will be sold in different parts of the city along with Kamalapur Railway Station.

He also said, “we are thinking of setting up some ticket booths in the different major areas of the city, including Teacher-Student Centre of Dhaka University, Tejgaon, Sayedabad and Bashundhara residential area, so that this station could remain less crowded for the holiday tickets.”

He came up with the information while briefing newsmen after visiting Kamlapur Railway Station in the capital on Friday morning.

“Necessary measures will be taken to stop selling tickets in black market,” he also said.

The railway minister also informed the government will also launch an app for selling rail tickets in April.

The process will be easier after launching of the app as people currently buy rail tickets online through the website of Bangladesh Railway, he also hoped.

The railway minister also said, “We have also taken a decision to launch a nonstop intercity train on the Dhaka-Rajshahi route to be inaugurated on April 14.”

“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the train in Pahela Baishake, the first day of Bangla New Year,” he also confirmed.
