3 suspects face trial

Chattogram: A tribunal here on Tuesday framed charges against three people including the driver, helper and supervisor of a ‘Hanif Paribahan’ bus for killing North South University student Saidur Rahman Payel in 2018, reports UNB.

Acting Judge of Chattogram Divisional Speedy Trial Tribunal Abdul Halim fixed also April 8 for the next hearing.

The accused are Bus driver Jamal Hossain, his helper Foysal Hossain and bus supervisor Jonny.

On July 22, last year, Payel, a 5th semester NSU student and son of Golam Mawla of Halishahar in the port city of Chattogram, was found dead in a canal at Bhaterchar in Gazaria upazila of Munshiganj district.

Later, police arrested the supervisor from Motijheel and the driver and its helper from Dhaka’s Arambagh areas of the capital.
