Wahed Mansion owner’s 2 sons sent to jail

A court here on Tuesday sent two sons of the owner of Wahed Mansion in Chawkbazar, from where a devastating fire originated on the night of February 20 that killed at least 71 people, to jail rejecting their bail petitions, reports UNB.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Qaisarul Islam sent Md Hasan and Sohel alias Shahid to jail upon their surrender to it.

The siblings sought fresh bail from the lower court through their lawyer as the tenure of their three weeks bail granted by the High Court expired.

After hearing, the court rejected the bail pleas and sent them to jail.

A total of 71 people were killed and dozens others were injured in a fire that broke out at Wahed Mansion in Chawkbazar on February 20. Two cases were filed.
