Bangladesh a role model for whole world: Kholiquzzaman

Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) Chairman Dr. Qazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad said Bangladesh has become a role model for the whole world, as it has witnessed massive development.

He said that it is necessary to identify the problems of the backward people and find a way out of it.

He was speaking at a reception given to him for winning Independence Award for his contribution to social service at the head office of PKSF.

Speaking on the occasion, former finance minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith said people now do not die due to poverty.

Now only 3.5 crore people are below the poverty line, he said.

If the government continues for next five years, the number of poor people will decrease to 2.5 crore, he added.

Eminent personality Selina Hossain, University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman Professor Abdul Mannan, PKSF Managing Director Md. Abdul Karim and others spoke at the event.
