Indo-Bangla armies’ joint cycling expedition ends

An eight-day long Joint Cycling Expedition of Bangladesh and Indian armies was concluded with the ‘flagged-in’ ceremony at Madhupur in Tangail on Monday.

Major General Mizanur Rahman Shamim, GOC 19th Infantry Division and Area Commander of Ghatail Area, was present as the chief guest at the closing ceremony.

Senior officials of Bangladesh Army, Indian Defence Attaché in Bangladesh, senior civilian officials of Tangail District and members of cycling teams from both countries, were present.

The inauguration of the joint cycling expedition was held in Cooch Behar on March 18. After four days of cycling inside India, cyclists entered into Bangladesh on March 22 and four days cycling was held in Bangladesh.

The cycling expedition is being organised every year since 2017 with the participation of army members of both countries to further accelerate the sincere and cordial relations between Bangladesh Army and India Army.

A total of 30 military personnel from the two countries participated in the expedition.
