New Delhi: Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi observed Genocide Day on the High Commission premises on Monday.
A panel discussion, screening of a documentary on the 1971 Genocide by Pakistan Army and reading out messages from President Md Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina were the highlights of the programme.High Commissioner Syed Muazzem Ali called for the UN to declare March 25 as the Genocide Day. Moderated by Farid Hossain, Minister (Press) the panel discussion was participated by Durbar Ganguly, editor-in-chief of the Millennium Post newspaper and Mohua Chatterjee, Assist Political Editor of the Times of India.
Meanwhile, Deputy High Commission of Bangladesh in Mumbai observed the day. Messages of President and Prime Minister were reads out while discussion and Dua-Mahfil were also organised on its premises.
