Tourism fair ends with warm response

The three-day international tourism fair ended in Dhaka on Saturday with huge response from visitors and potential tourists.

The program titled ‘Novo Air Travel Mart-2019’ was held at Pan Pacific Sonargaon hotel in Dhaka from March 21-23, 2019.

A total of 41 companies and organisations including seven Bangladeshi companies presented their products and services in five pavilions and 70 stalls.

AKM Saiful Islam, Marketing and Sales Manager of ‘Regent Airways’ said, “From the first day we are getting good response in the fair. We have offered discount on ticket price. The overall environment was quite impressive”.

Regent airways offered about 12 percent discount on economic class and 20per cent discount on business class tickets.

When asked about response from the visitors, Farque Ahmed, Manager E-commerce of Bangladesh Biman said, “We have got good responses from visitors on the first day of the fair. This year we offered not only plane tickets but also several packages for different tourist destinations and sold more tickets and some packages”.

“Our main destinations are India, Singapore, Nepal and Bangkok.  Among these, we got maximum number of ticket and package booking for Kathmandu as April is the month of tourism for this particular area,” he said.

A good number of organizations from Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia along with national tourism organizations of Bangladesh took part in this years’ fair while Nepal was associated as the partner country.
