Six quizzed over aircraft hijack attempt

CHATTOGRAM: The investigation officer (IO) of the sensational case filed in connection with the alleged attempt to hijack an aircraft of Bangladesh Biman Airlines interrogated six persons including pilot and first officer.

IO Rajesh Barua of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) quizzed the six persons as witnesses and victims of the incident.

He informed that the six persons including the pilot came to the office of the CTTC in the port city on Wednesday.

“The six persons were interrogated and their statements were recorded for the sake of the investigation into the case,” he said.

Those who interrogated were pilot Md Golam Saafi, first officer Muntasir Mahbub, cabin crewmembers Shafika Nasim Nimmi, Hosne Ara, Sharifa Begum Ruma and Abdur Shakur Mujahid.
