DNCC demolishes 150 illegal structures in city

A mobile court of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) on Monday pulled down 150 illegal structures in Uttara area of the capital.

The mobile court led by executive magistrate Sajid Anwar conducted a drive from Kosaibari of Shaista Khan Avenue to Swiss gate area under Uttara Sector 4 and freed 25,000 square feet area.

During the drive, 150 illegal concrete and semi-concrete structures were knocked down.

Owners of the structures were given two days by newly elected mayor Atiqul Islam while inspecting the area on 12 March, a DNCC press release reads. 

The press release also said that the drives are being carried out in order to end water-clogging in the area.
