Anti-drug rally held in Sylhet

An anti-drug rally organized by Apex Clubs of Bangladesh was held in Sylhet aiming to spread the awareness messages against drugs among the people.

The rally began at city's Shaheed Minar premises and paraded all around the city.

Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen was present as the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the event.

  Sylhet City Mayor Ariful Haque Chowdhury inaugurated the rally in the morning and was also present at the closing ceremony.

National president of Apex Clubs of Bangladesh MA Kaium Chowdhury, national youth and citizenship director Saim Tipu, national International relations director  AFM Enamul Haque Mamun and programme coordinator Ezaz Mahmud Rony were present on the occasion.

In his speech, Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen said the government is now on zero tolerance stances against drugs. But, government’s lone effort is not enough to combat against drugs. Awareness of people can help reducing use of drugs, he added.
