55 structures by Turag river demolished

Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) on Thursday demolished 55 illegal structures on the bank Turag River under Ramchandrapur’s Dhaka Udyan of Mohammadpur of the capital as part of ongoing drive to free river from encroachment.

During the drive, a garment factory named ‘Delux’ and a Bungalow of local land grabber Monir built on river land, were demolished. 

A team led by executive magistrate Mostafizur Rahman and joint director of BIWTA AKM Arif Uddin conducted the drive in the area. 

Apart from that three semi-concrete buildings, 20 tin-shops and 15 brick and sank were demolished.
