South Korea’s consumer price rises 0.5pc in Feb

SEOUL: South Korea's consumer price rose 0.5 percent in February from a year earlier on lower prices for oil product and vegetable, a government report showed Tuesday.

The consumer price index stood at 104.69 in February, up 0.5 percent from a year ago, according to Statistics Korea. It was the lowest increase since August 2016, reports Xinhua.

The consumer price inflation continued to decline from 2 percent in November last year to 1.3 percent in December and 0.8 percent in January, respectively.

Oil product price tumbled 11.3 percent, marking the fastest fall since May 2016.
