Regimental colour handover ceremony held

The regimental colour handover ceremony of Bangladesh Army’s artillery regiment was held at Artillery Centre and School in Halishahar, Chittagong on Wednesday.

Army chief and Colonel Commandant of the Artillery Regiment General Aziz Ahmed handed over the regimental colour as the chief guest.

In order to participate in the liberation war and special contribution to the service of the army, the decision to give the regimental colour to the units of the Artillery Regiment was taken.

In this context, for the first time, Bangladesh Army’s 1, 2, 3 Field Regiment Artillery and 38 Air Defence Regiment Artillery participated in the colour parade and officially received the regimental flag from the chief guest.

According to the military tradition of the army, getting the regimental colour for any unit is very glorious.

Lieutenant Colonel Tanvir Haider served as parade commander of the Regimental Colour Parade. Captain Faisal, Major Mahfuz, Captain Asif and Major Fuad were leading the contingents of 1, 2, 3 Field Regiment Artillery and 38 Air Defence Regiment.

Former Army Chief Lieutenant General Mohammad Atiqur Rahman, the former Colonel Commandants of the Artillery Regiment, General Officer Commanding of different forms, Area Commander Chittagong Area, Commander of Navy and Air Force of Chittagong Area and military and civil high level officers were present at the programme.
