Ericsson integrates

charging system

with Axiata

Ericsson has announced the pre-integration of its charging system with Axiata's Apigate platform.

Ericsson Bangladesh informed that the Swedish telecommunications firm made the announcement on Tuesday at the ongoing Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019 in Barcelona. The MWC is ongoing since February 25 and it will continue till February 28, 2019.

Ericsson will present unique insights on 5G business opportunities and showcase using cases that enhance service providers’ business and customer experiences at MWC.

Apigate is a new breed of Application Programming Interface (API) ecosystem provider that enables businesses to achieve rapid growth and monetization on a secure and seamless platform.

The merger will support the innovative digital API integration and monetization framework through a purpose-built API Micro services Accelerator Pack.

This development follows the MoU announcement between the two companies in November 2018 to collaborate and create innovative value propositions in the Business Support System (BSS), Operational Support System (OSS) and Internet of Things (IoT).

Ericsson Bangladesh Head Todd Ashton said:, “The collaboration between Ericsson and the Group can create new value opportunities beyond data volume and voice minutes with API-driven digital solutions.”

Apigate Chief Executive Zoran Vasiljev said the merger will assist Axiata to structure offerings for the monetization of telecom APIs with a large ecosystem of partners including the long tail developer community.
