RU students want RUCSU

RAJSHAHI: The leaders and activists of Rajshahi University Central Students Union (RUCSU) Movement Forum, a socio-cultural organisation of the Rajshahi University demanded to hold the RUCSU election after fixed the definite dates under an annual plan like other elections of the university in the democratic way.

Aiming to create mass awareness among the general students of the university about RUCSU, the forum activists led by their convener Abdul Mazid Antoor distributed leaflet Wednesday noon at the campus.

Through the leaflet they urged the RU to implemented 17-points demands including ensure full-fledged senate sessions after election of registered graduate and RUCSU elections, prohibited political seat allocation in the residential halls, ensure congenial atmosphere for research and education at campus, initiate e-library system, increase food quality at dormitories, and served safe water over the campus.

RU students also claimed to served healthy food with cheaper price under administrative supervisions, remaining open the central library seven days weekly for 24 hours, necessary steps to stop snatching,

stolen and sexual-harassment at campus, cancel sun set law for female students, constructed full-fledged TSCC building, increase the treatment quality, and ensure adequate lighting at different streets of the campus.

Their others demands are adequate number of buses included with university transportation pool, cancel to collect various unauthorized fees during the certificate withdraw & amendments of certificates, increase budget in the research field, and cancel evening courses immediately.

Abdul Mazid spook man of RUCSU Movement Forum said, many university students do not know about RUCSU and its functions. We have distributing about 30 thousand leaflets to raise awareness among the general students and to highlight their needs. The distribution work will be continued till end of this month.
