Wife arrested for killing husband in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM: Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) arrested a woman on charge of killing her husband on Tuesday. 

The arrestee was identified as Asha Akter, 23, daughter of Abdul Aziz of Bogura district headquarters.

The victim was Md Shamim, 30, son of Abul Kalam, of Nabinagar upazila in Brahmanbaria district.

CMP Additional Commissioner (Traffic) Kusum Dewan disclosed these at a press conference at Conference Room of Dampara Police Lines on Wednesday.

Boutique house worker Asha and cook Shamim got introduced through social media Facebook around one year back.

Later, they got married. Though, Shamim was married and had two sons and wife, he hid this to Asha to continue the relationship, the police officer said.

After the marriage, she came to know about Shamim’s first wife and family, and then she planned to kill him.

She stabbed Shamim to death and severed his head off the body when he was sleeping, Kusum Dewan said adding that she took away the mobile phone set of Shamim after the murder.
