The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Tuesday approved a charge sheet against former deputy secretary Abu Md Nurul islam and his wife Dilruba Khanom in a case filed for amassing illegal wealth.
ACC approved the charge sheet at the commission’s regular meeting held in Segunbagicha headquarters’ in the city, said ACC spokesperson Pranab Kumar Bhattacharjee.As per the ACC findings, Dilruba submitted wealth statement to the commission showing her moveable and immoveable property worth Tk 53.86 lakh. But the ACC found that she earned wealth worth Tk 82,23 lakh and she concealed information of wealth worth Tk 28.23 lakh.
Dilruba is a housewife and there was no legal sources of income her to earn the huge amount of property. Actually, the wealth was amassed through the help of her husband Abu Md Nurul Islam, said the commission.
