The three-day ‘3rd drama festival’ concludes on Chittagong University (CU) campus today.
The university’s Dramatics Department organised the festival in cooperation with the Cultural Affairs Ministry at ‘Onmukto Manch’ on the campus.CU Vice Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr Iftekhar Uddin Chowdhury inaugurated the festival as the chief guest with Dramatics department Head Shamim Hasan in the chair on Monday.
Pro VC Professor Dr Shireen Akhter and Fine Arts faculty Dean Professor Md Sekandar Chowdhury were present as special guests at the inaugural ceremony also attended by Theatre Personality Mamunur Rashid.
Addressing the programme, VC Professor Iftekhar recalled the heroes who embraced martyrdom for mother language in 1952.
He observed that drama is one of the means of creative recreation.
Focusing importance of the drama, the VC said it not only provides us with entertainment, but also puts up different inconsistencies of family, society and country.
