A Pirojpur court on Tuesday sent Masud-bin-Saydee, son of war criminal Delwar Hossain Saydee, to jail in a case filed under Explosive Substances Act.

Masud, chairman of Indurkani Upazila Parishad under the district, appeared before Additional District and Sessions Judge Court and sought bail.

But the Judge Shamsul Haque rejected the bail plea and ordered to send him to the jail, said Khan Mohammad Alauddin, public prosecutor of the court.  Earlier, the accused was granted a six-week bail by High Court.

On December 25, 2018, the accused with leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami was holding a secret meeting in a house at Saidkhali area of the upazila.

On information, police raided the house and recovered five petrol bombs and some cocktails from the spot on the day.  It is mentioned that Delwar Hossain Saydee has been serving life term in jail.
