BNP standing committee member Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain on Sunday said that his party has to ‘revive democracy’ in the country.

“Restructuring of associate organisations of the BNP is going on. It is BNP which will have to bring back democracy in the end,” he said.

The BNP leader came up with the statements speaking at a discussion at the National Press Club in the capital city.  Mosharraf Hossain said, “It is not possible to free democracy keeping Khaleda Zia in jail. People wanted to cast their vote, but they couldn’t do so. After getting united, the nationalist force has to save the country from autocrats,” he added.

The party standing committee member alleged that a ‘farce’ is going on in the name of surrender by drug traders. He further alleged that cases are filed against drug traders in a way so that they may be released later.

Meanwhile, addressing a press conference of the party at its central office in Nayapaltan of the capital, BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi warned that if any one of the party fight the upcoming upazila parishad election, organizational action will be taken against them.
