Govt to support pvt aviation expansion

The government is cordial to extend all support to the country’s private airlines industry for their proper growth, State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism M Mahbub Ali on Sunday said.

The minister also talked about decreasing fare of airlines companies in domestic routes considering fast rising numbers of air travellers.

The state minister made the remarks while holding a meeting with leaders of Aviation Operators’ Association of Bangladesh (AOAB) at his secretariat office in the city.

The minister said that along with the robust economic advancement of Bangladesh, demand of local airlines are getting higher day by day and the government is keen to extend its support for ensuring proper expansion of private aviation sector.

He said the incumbent government is very much cordial for development of the aviation and tourism sector.

“We will take all necessary steps for further development of the sector under the leadership of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina,” said Mahbub Ali.

 He also laid emphasis on maintaining a healthy competition among the airlines for ensuring sustainable growth of the country’s aviation sector.

The state minister said competent and safe aviation sector is also an important component in flourishing tourism of a country.

About decreasing airfare in domestic destinations, he said that the matter will be discussed with the operators and officials concerned as different factors are involved in this regard.

AOAB President Anjan Chowdhury and General Secretary Mofizur Rahman were present at the meeting, among others.
