Bengali drama film ‘Komola Rocket’ has own Hiralal Sen Award at ‘Amar Bhashar Cholocchitro 1425’, a film festival that came to an end yesterday.
Organized by Dhaka University Film Society, the six-day film fest screened total sixteen full-length films and four short films at DU Teacher-Student Center (TSC) in the capital from February 10 to 15.Written and directed by Noor Imran Mithu and produced by Faridur Reza Sagar, the film casts Mosharraf Karim, Tauquir Ahmed and Kawsar Ahamed in the lead roles.
Impress Telefilm produced movie which is mainly based on Bangla Academy Award winner and expatriate writer Shahaduzzaman’s stories ‘Moulik’ and ‘Saipras’.
On the fourth day of ‘Amar Bhashar Cholocchitro 1425’, Dhaka University Film Society (DUFS) honoured the movie ‘Komola Rocket’, awarding it the Hiralal Sen Padak, Hiralal Sen Padak ceremony was held on February 13, as a part of the fest where producer Faridur Reza Sagar received the award on behalf of the ‘Komola Rocket’ team.
Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud, while DU Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education) Prof Nasreen Ahmed, and other prominent personalities of the country’s film industry were present on the award-giving ceremony.
Minister Hasan Mahmod handed over the award to Faridur Reza Sagar. The former mentioned that films reflect our lives.”The injustices of society can be visualised by films. Film can convey message to society for its betterment,” he added.
