BGB-BSF conference ends in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM: A four-day ‘Region Commander BGB-IsG BSF Level Border Coordination Conference’ ended with a vow to maintaining amicable relationship at frontiers of the both countries.

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) organised a joint press briefing in this regard at the conference room of South-East Region Camp in the city’s Halishahar area on Thursday.

BGB Additional Director General and South-East Region Commander Brigadier General Md Amirul Islam Sikder, Additional Director General and North-East Region Commander ASM Anisul Haque, Chattogram Regional Intelligence Bureau Chief and Director Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Mahbub Morshed, BSF Mizoram and Cachar Frontier Inspector General (IG) Dr Kanhu Charan Mahali and Meghalaya Frontier IG Shri Kuldeep Saini were present at the briefing among others.  

Addressing the briefing, Brigadier General Md Amirul Islam Sikder said they will work jointly with Border Security Force (BSF) of India to maintain an amicable relationship between the countries at frontiers.

He said they discussed different issues including intrusion, border killing, border security, drug and firearm smuggling, and children and women trafficking with their counterpart during the conference.
