JS forms 10 more committees

Parliament on Sunday formed 10 more parliamentary standing committees to examine draft bills, legislative proposals, review the enforcement of laws, propose measures for such enforcement and examine any other matter referred to them by Parliament under Article 76 of the Constitution.

Every Standing Committee, as referred to in Rule 246, shall consist of not more than 10 members including the Chairman and members.

The committees are parliamentary standing committee on social welfare ministry headed by Rashed Khan Menon, parliamentary standing committee on primary and mass education ministry by Mustafizur Rahman, parliamentary standing committee on road transport and bridges ministry by Ekabbar Hossain, parliamentary standing committee on water resources ministry by Ramesh Chandra Sen, parliamentary standing committee on disaster management and relief ministry by ABM Tajul Islam, parliamentary standing committee on power, energy and mineral resources ministry by Shahiduzzaman Sarker, parliamentary standing committee on estimate committee by Abdus Shahid, parliamentary standing committee on youth and sports ministry by Abdullah Al Islam Jacob, parliamentary standing committee on public accounts by Rusam Ali Farazi and parliamentary standing committee on civil aviation and tourism ministry headed by RAM Obaidul Muktadir Chowdhury.

Parliament passed the committees by a voice vote with deputy Speaker Fazle Rabbi Miah in the chair.
