3.37 lakh posts in govt offices lie vacant

Noting that there are some 3.37 lakh vacant posts in different government offices, State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain on Sunday told Parliament that government has taken various measures to fill up the vacant posts, reports UNB.

“At present 3,36,746 posts remain vacant in the government offices,” he said while replying to a starred question from treasury bench lawmaker Shamsul HaqueTuku (Pabna-5).

The state minister said Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) has recommended the government to appoint 1,289 candidates who qualified the 37th BCS examination.

Besides, a process is on to fill up 8,719 vacant posts in different cadres through 38th, 39th and 40th BCS examinations.

Of these, 2,024 vacant posts will be filled up through 38th BCS exam, while 4,792 vacant posts through 39th BCS exam and 1,903 vacant posts through 40th BCS exam.
