‘Shimanto Data Centre’ inaugurated

The ‘Shimanto Data Centre’ established at Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) headquarters in Pilkhana was inaugurated on Wednesday with the aim of turning the BGB more modern and dynamic.

BGB Director General (DG) Maj Gen Shafeenul Islam inaugurated the ‘Shimanto Data Centre’ as the chief guest.

BGB Additional Director General, Managing Director of Shimanto Bank, Managing Director of Shimanto Welfare Trust and senior officials of BGB were present.

This data centre, established for the first time in BGB, will help the BGB complete its activities and administrative activities more quickly and accurately.

Different applications, including hosting BGB’s own website, are being managed from Shimanto Data Centre.

Of these, exchange service, recruitment service to complete the recruitment process quickly, audio and video conference service and DMR are worth mentioning.

BGB has border surveillance system for communication and additional surveillance in bordering areas, Petrol Tracker System, Border Management Service, BGB Mail Service and Active Directory.

One of the key features of the Shimanto Data Center is all IT applications and systems of BGB can be centrally controlled.
