Ninth AGM of KGDCL held

The ninth Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Karnaphuli Gas Distribution Company Limited (KGDCL) was held at its head office in the city’s Sholoshahar area on Friday.

Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin, lawmakers ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury, Nazrul Islam Chowdhury, Chattogram Development Authority Chairman Abdus Salam, Energy and Mineral Resources Division Secretary and KGDCL Board of Directors Chairman Abu Hena Md Rahamatul Muneem, Petrobangla Chairman Md Ruhul Amin, Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) President Mahbubul Alam and KGDCL Managing Director Engineer Khaiz Ahmed Majumder attended a feast arranged on the occasion of the AGM among others.

Mayor Nasir, representatives of the CCCI and stakeholders put up different problems of energy sector in Chattogram before Secretary Abu Hena at the programme organised at Chittagong Club. 

Nasir said though all arrears of the KGDCL were paid gas connections to the subscriber in the city remained suspended for long due to supplying the gas to the national grid. 

Lauding the initiative taken by the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to import Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), the CCC mayor hoped that residential subscribers of the Chattogram will be benefited from the initiative along with the industrial and commercial subscribers.

KGDCL General Manager (GM-Administration) Firoz Khan and GM (Marketing) Engineer Azizul Hoque also attended the programme among others.
