1 drowned, 14 went missing in trawler capsize

CHATTOGRAM: A crewmember drowned and 14 others went missing after a fishing trawler capsized in the sea, some 30 miles off the Saint Martin’s Island in Cox’s Bazar on Monday early hours.

Lieutenant Commander Hamid of Bangladesh Coast Guard said the fishing trawler ‘FV Shah Badar-2’ capsized after the sea turned turbulent on Monday early hours.

On receiving information, members of Coast Guard rushed to the spot and recovered a body and rescued five others, he said.

Some 14 crewmembers of the trawler remained missing, the Coast Guard officer added.
