Give special attention to new innovations in health sector

Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque on Sunday asked all concerned to give special attention to the new innovations in the health sector of the country.

“Mobility will have to be brought to increase quality of service for people. At the same time, all have to give special attention to new innovations alongside old techniques,” he said.

The health minister came up with the statement while speaking at a views-exchange meeting at his secretariat office in the capital.

Leaders of Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC), Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons (BCPS), Bangladesh Medical Research Council (BMRC), National Institute of Population, Research and Training (NIPORT), National Institute of Preventive and Social Medicine (NIPSOM) and Nursing and Midwifery Council were present at the event.

Zahid Maleque directed all concerned to work with transparency to keep the image of the health sector up saying that satisfaction of getting service in health sector creates people’s confidence on government.

He directed the leaders of all medical research institutions including the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) to make work plan to give more attention to research in medical science as per directive of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

State Minister for Health Md Murad Hasan, Medical Education and Family Welfare Division Secretary GM Saleh Uddin and BCPS president Kanak Kanti Barua, also Vice Chancellor of BSMMU were also present.

Earlier, the health minister presided over another meeting titled ‘national mental health work plan’ at the ministry conference room.

Saima Wazed Hossain, Chairperson of the Bangladesh National Advisory Committee for Autism, was present as the chief guest in the meeting.
