A two-day workshop on science concluded at lecture gallery of Universal Medical College and Hospital in the capital on Sunday.
Universal Medical College and Hospital and Pediatric and Neonatal Critical Care Learning Group jointly organised the event, says a press release.Neonatal and pediatric physicians from different institutions of the country participated in the workshop where they were given instructions about complex diseases for newborn babies and modern treatment for dying patients. After the workshop, the participants would now be able to prescribe life-saving medicines for neonatal and premature babies and mothers who have diabetes and high-blood pressures.
Besides, the neonatal mortality rate will decrease throughout the country in future.
Eminent neonatal and pediatric specialist Prof Dr Monir Hossain moderated the workshop. Renowned pediatric surgeon Prof Dr Abdul Aziz, Prof Dr Abdul Mannan, Associate Professors Dr Zakir Hossain Sarker, Dr Mahfuza Shirin and Abdullah Al-Mamun trained the participants. Universal Medical College and Hospital Managing Director Dr Ashis Kumar Chakraborty delivered the welcome of speech while Chairman of the hospital Priti Chakraborty distributed certificates among the participants of the workshop.
