Gyankosh Library and Press raided, sealed

KUSHTIA: A mobile court in Kushtia has sealed Gyankosh Library and Press in the town for publishing and selling notebooks, guidebooks and suggestions for primary to university students illegally.

Executive Magistrates Sharif Ullah and Partha Protim Sheel conducted a raid on the library and press and seized illegally published notebooks and suggestions on Tuesday.

The owner has been allegedly printing and selling notebooks and suggestion without permission of the authorities concerned.

Gyankosh Library is located near Islamia College in Kushtia town and is much known to the students, guardians and librarians in the region for its wholesale and retail business of all kinds of college, university and other books.

Although the government banned notebooks and guides for students from nursery to eighth grade, the library owner was printing and selling such books at high prices.
