2 drug peddlers held with phensedyl in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested two alleged drug-peddlers with 1,500 bottles of phensedyl from a market in Godagari Upazila in the district on Monday, RAB sources said, reports BSS.

The arrested persons were identified as Mashidul Haque, 21, son of late Rajbul Ali of Rashinchalk village and Masud Alam, 20, son of Samed Ali of Airmary village both under Shibgonj Upazila in Chapainawabgonj district.

On a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted a sudden raid at the area around 11.30 am and arrested the youths after seizing the huge contraband item from their possessions.

Quoting their confessional statement the RAB officials said the arrested persons were involved in smuggling and trafficking various drug items including phensedyl and yaba for long.

A case was recorded with Godagari Police Station in this connection and the arrested persons along with the seized goods were handed over to police.
