Momen briefs diplomats on visions of govt today

Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen will brief foreign diplomats stationed in Dhaka today on the visions of the government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

He will apprise the diplomats of the future plans of the newly-formed government at a diplomatic briefing at state guesthouse Padma in the capital.

The foreign ministry has invited the diplomats of different countries to the briefing.

The foreign minister will talk to the diplomats about the priorities of his government’s foreign policy that will include

Rohingya issue and democracy.

He will also brief the diplomats on the recently-held national election in Bangladesh.

In this regard, he will present statistic of the polls and apprise the diplomats that the elections have been held in a peaceful and participatory manner.

The foreign minister will also explain the measures taken by the Election Commission over the allegations of irregularities during polls.

According to diplomatic sources, the Rohingya issue will dominate the discussion with the foreign diplomats.

Dr Momen will tell the diplomats about the socio-economic, environmental and security impacts of the crisis in different countries of the world.

He will also explain the economic diplomacy of the government besides telling them different opportunities and privileges for investment in Bangladesh.

He will talk about the economic zones of the country for foreign investment.
