London stocks open up

LONDON: London’s FTSE 100 index rose slightly at the open on Wednesday after the UK parliament handed the British government a bruising defeat over its Brexit deal with the EU.

The benchmark index of 100 companies gained 0.2 percent to 6,910.20 points.

In the eurozone, Frankfurt’s DAX 30 rose 0.5 percent to 10,940.36 points and the Paris CAC 40 climbed 0.5 percent to 4,811.59, reports AFP.
