Jaipur Int’l Film Fest to open with ‘Iti, Tomari Dhaka’

First Bangladeshi anthology film titled ‘Iti, Tomari Dhaka’ will be screened at the 11th edition of Jaipur International Film Festival (JIFF) tomorrow on the opening day of the fest in Jaipur, India.

Eleven promising young directors from the Bangladeshi film fraternity have made the film, with Dhaka as its central theme.

The directors are Abu Shahed Imon, Golam Kibria Farooki, Krishnendu Chattopadhyay, Mahmudul Islam, Md Robiul Alam, Mir Mukarram Hossain, Nuhash Humayun, Rahat Rahman, Syed Ahmed Shawki, Syed Saleh Ahmed Sobhan and Tamim Noor Tanvir.

The five-day festival which will end on January 22 will screen over one hundred films of different countries including India, Bangladesh, Iran, Switzerland, France, Canada, USA, Finland, Singapore, Brazil, Germany, Peru, Cambodia, South Africa and others.

‘Iti, Tomari Dhaka’, which has also been screened at festivals in Indonesia and India before, features diverse aspects of the megacity Dhaka including its heritage and traditions, people and professions, dreams and nightmares through eleven short films.
