CHATTOGRAM: A faction of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) formed a human chain demanding immediate election of Chittagong University Central Students’ Union (CUCSU) on the university campus on Monday afternoon.

The BCL faction also gave an ultimatum of one-month to the university authority for announcing polls schedule. They formed the human chain in front of the Central Shaheed Minar on the university campus around 1:00pm.

Addressing a brief rally after the human chain, the university BCL dissolved committee General Secretary Sujan alleged that general students have been deprived of their rights as they have no representative at senate of the university for the last 28 years.

He also alleged that the CUCSU has been kept nonfunctional for own interests of the university.

Former BCL leader Sujan urged the university authority to hold meeting with all student organisations to discuss the matter.

He threatened to announce tougher programme if the university authority fails to announce the polls schedule by one month.
