DMP Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia on Saturday said investigation into whether any person or group is behind the labour unrest is underway.

He urged garment workers not to cause sufferings to ordinary people by blocking roads.

The DMP Commissioner came up with the statements while talking to reporters after handing out blankets among the destitute people in the capital on Saturday.

Asaduzzaman said: “I believe it (salary) will be adjusted before one month. If anyone gets less salary, it will be adjusted to the next month’s salary. There is no chance of confusion about this.”

“Work is going on very fast on the issue. I think workers have no problem with pay allowances and there is no scope for doubt. FBCCI and BGMEA has already decided that salaries of workers won’t decrease and the problem will be resolved soon.”
