Coast Guard recovers 60,000 Yaba, cannabis in Cox’s Bazar

CHATTOGRAM: Member of Bangladesh Coast Guard recovered 60,000 pieces of Yaba tablet and seven kilograms of cannabis from Teknaf upazila in Cox’s Bazar district on Friday.

Lieutenant Commander Abdullah Al Faruk of the Cast Guard (East Zone) in a press release said that acting on a tip-off, a team of the Coast Guard conducted drive in Jailar Dwip area under the upazila at around 5:30am.

Sensing presence of the Coast Guard-men, the smugglers fled the scene leaving the drugs.

Later, a total of 60,000 Yaba tablets and seven kilograms of cannabis were recovered from the spot, read the press release.

Filing of case in this connection was under process, it added.
