Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday requested people of the country to forgive her and her colleagues if there is any mistake made in running the state affairs during her party Awami League-led government.

“To err is human. There might have been mistakes from me or my colleagues while discharging duties. I myself and on behalf of my party earnestly request people to forgive us for any mistakes,” she said.

Sheikh Hasina, also the president of the ruling Awami League, sought forgiveness while unveiling her party’s poll manifesto for the upcoming 11th parliamentary polls.

She vowed to build brighter future of the country by taking lessons from the past if her party is voted to power again.

“We’ll build a hunger and poverty-free secular Sonar Bangladesh as dreamt by the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu,” Sheikh Hasina said.

Sheikh Hasina said it’s clear as daylight that people of the country get something when the Awami League comes to power.

She announced the poll manifesto in presence of a cross section of people, including civil society and artistes, business leaders, foreign diplomats and representatives from development partners.
