The film has been scripted by actor Ferdous while it has been jointly directed by Abir Khan and Rashed Shamim.
Based on war, patriotism and romanticism, ‘Postmaster 71’ tells the story of war in 1971 when a fearful atmosphere was prevailing around the country. One day Arif, a post master in a rural post office, receives a letter that asks him to organize the young men in the nearby villages and send them to receive training for war.
The post master follows the direction carried in the letter and sends the young men for training, although the post office is an office of Pakistani government.
Thus, post master Arif plays a significant role in the Liberation War by encouraging the young men to join the war, though he does not take part in the battle directly.
Meanwhile, a village ‘Rajakar’ called Guljar is informed about the matter. Thereupon, Guljar along with his people attacks the post office. And thus, the story moves onward.
Apart from Ferdous and Moushumi playing the lead roles in the film, its cast also includes Shohidul Alam Shacchu, Amit Hasan, Al Monshur, Nijhum Robina, Shanjid Khan Prince.
The film ‘Postmaster 71’ has been produced by Impress Telefilm.
