CIU students write to Suu Kyi over Rohingya repatriation

Students of Chittagong Independent University (CIU) wrote an open letter requesting Aung San Suu Kyi, State Counsellor of Myanmar, to take back Rohingyas to their own country.

The Department of English under School of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (SLASS) of CIU organised a Letter Writing Competition 2018 held on the university campus in Chattogram on Monday, says a press release.

Prof Dr Mahfuzul Hoque Chowdhury, Vice Chancellor of Chittagong Independent University (CIU), was the chief guest at the event.

Prof Quazi Mostain Billah, Professor and Dean of SLASS; Charmain Rodrigues, Assistant Professor and Head of English department and Rifat Tasnim, Assistant Professor, Md Saifur Rahman, Assistant professor, Asiqur Rahman, lecturer, and Nasih Ul Wadud Alam, lecturer, reviewed 11 papers of the competitors.

The awardees are — Mohammad Riaz Uddin (first position), Computer Science and Engineering Department of CIU; Sharmin Akter Roshni (second position) and Srabonty Dasgupta (third position).
