Cancer specialists visit United Hospital

A 30-member team of cancer specialists from the Forum and Nuclear Cooperation in Asia (FNCA) visited United Hospital Cancer Care Center in the city recently.

Prof Shingo Katto and Prof Masru Waka Suki of Japan along with cancer specialists from Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, China, Kazakhstan, Philippines, Vietnam, Mongolia and Bangladesh were present at the event, says a press release.

They also conducted a training session and visited the hospital’s latest radiation therapy facility such as PET CT, True Beam, Brachytherapy, SPECT CT and expressed their satisfaction.

Faridur Rahman Khan, Managing Director of the hospital, discussed the progress of cancer treatment in Bangladesh and contribution to the United Hospital.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the hospital Fazur Rahman and Chief of Communication and Business Development Dr Shagufa Anwar were also present in the session.

Dr Ashim Kumar Sengupta, Clinical and Radiation oncologist of the hospital, made a presentation highlighting the country’s current status of cancer spread and overall treatment facilities.
