Iranian film show begins in city

A four-day-long Iranian film show is underway at national music and dance auditorium of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) in the city, reports UNB.

Iran Cultural Centre, Dhaka and BSA jointly orgnaised the film show at BSA premises.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s media adviser Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury was present at the inaugural ceremony on Saturday evening as the chief guest while charge d’ Affaires of Iranian Embassy in Dhaka Ebrahim Shafiei Rezvani Nejad and eminent actress Lucky Enam were present as special guests.

BSA’s Film and Cinematography Department director Badrul Anam Bhuiyan presided over the meeting while Iranian Embassy acting cultural counsellour Dr. Seyed Mahdi Hosseini Faegh delivered the inaugural speech.

Two films will be screened every day from 11 am to 1 pm and from 3 pm to 5 pm.

A film titled ‘So far, so close’ was screened on the opening day of the film fest. ‘Maritme Silkroad’ was screened at 11am while and ‘Trac Hundred Forty Three’ was screened at 3pm on Sunday.

‘Zero to Podium’ and ‘Once upon a time love and betrayal’ are scheduled to be screened today at the same. Then, ‘Today’ and ‘Rana’s Silence’ will be screened on the final day of the festival at the same time.

Besides, another five-day-long Iranian film show is also going to be arranged in 3 different cities of the country from November 9.

The upcoming film exhibition will be organised at Shilpakala Academy auditoriums in Chittagong, Rajshahi and Khulna cities.

The exhibition will continue until November 13.
