BNP standing committee member Moudud Ahmed claimed that the government is feeling ‘nervous’ about the formation of the Jatiya Oikya Front.
“After formation of Jatiya Oikya Front, we see that the government looks nervous. By making different statements, they have proved that they are afraid of this Front, national unity and the country’s people,” he said. The BNP leader came up with the statements at a discussion meeting arranged by Bangladesh Youth Forum at the National Press Club in the capital on Friday.
The BNP standing committee member said: “Awami League will be defeated by the Oikya Front. There’s no point in criticising the Oikya Front. If you go to villages, you will see that people have united.”
Moudud claimed that the government ‘couldn’t ensure a favourable atmosphere for a free and fair election’ though less than three months to go to the forthcoming parliamentary election.
About the refusal of permission to hold the rally of Jatiya Oikya Front in Sylhet city on October 23, he said it proves that the government has ‘no popularity’.
